Thanks for visiting!

I am an ecologist and evolutionary biologist who is broadly interested in natJessPhotoive bee behaviour and conservation. Sometimes this means watching bees in observation nests, sometimes this means using molecular markers to understand colony structure, and sometimes it means driving all over the to see what bee species we find in different landscapes.

I completed an undergraduate degree in Zoology from the University of Guelph followed by MSc and PhD degrees in Biology from Brock University with Dr. Miriam Richards.

I’m currently a postdoc in the lab of Dr. Paul Galpern at the University of Calgary where I’m studying the influence of semi-natural landscape features in agroecosystems on bee community structure.  More information about my research interests can be found under the ‘Research’ tab.
